JW's on Christmas Day
by Jim_TX inmy wife, my m-i-l and i were driving over to my wife's aunt's home on christmas day to celebrate christmas - which involved letting the aunt's great-great-grandkids open their presents, and eating an early supper (or late lunch).. we were on the way at around 10:30am to 11:00am to the house.
about a couple of miles away, whilst driving through the neighborhood, i spotted a couple of middle-aged young women wearing skirts down to their ankles, and carrying large handbags (aka 'bookbags').
they were between houses, and walking slowly... pioneer stroll?....

I remember going out on Thanksgiving once. We made of point of skipping houses that appeared to have visitors. The few people we actually talked to were mostly polite, only one yelled at me for interrupting her while cooking. There were a few people who seemed lonely, with no family to visit.

I've potty trained 3 boys - they didn't respond to the same techniques at all. Our oldest would hold his bowel movements as long as possible, leading to incredibly hard, large stools. We had to give him a suppository every 2 or 3 days to make him poop. He was good about peeing in the potty by the time he was 3 1/2, but we fought the poop problem for years. He's 13 and he still has issues.
Our middle boy was potty trained in one day at about age 3 1/2, with virtually no daytime accidents after that, but he needed pull ups at night for a couple of years. We spent the whole day drinking koolaid and peeing in the potty, with cheering and dancing every time some one went. We even bought a male baby doll that took a bottle and peed in a little potty seat - they say teaching someone else is the best way to learn something for yourself.
Our third child was not at all impressed by the potty party. He continued to have accidents and was not at all cooperative. He was finally sold on potty training through a bribe - I told him when he managed 2 solid months of no accidents, including at night, we'd go to Disney World. He improved immediately and qualified for the trip within 6 months. He was nearly 4 by that time.
I think the moral of this story is that potty training is sometimes a real problem, and may take much longer than you anticipate.

LOL my singing would probably cause the internet to implode. WHen my kids were babies, I'd try to sing them to sleep and they'd cry "Mommy stop singing!"

It should be
1. If we have listened to Herd, we will show it.
His demands oppress, and screw up our day.
It makes us unhappy to hear and to know it,
And we’ll be stressed if we know and obey.
(Chorus)
2. This way of life, like a jail, is a sentence
With its endless rules and look!, no free time.
If we apply Letts’ hard line direction,
We’ll have a life which is mis-er-ab-le
(Chorus)
3. Just as a tree dying from lack of water
whose leaves are brown and no fruit is bearing,
If we obey the whole Governing Body,
We’ll all be stressed and have endless sadness.
(Chorus)
"Listen, obey, and be stressed
When you hear Splane's will expressed
If you’d be depressed and enjoy life less,
Listen, obey, and be stressed"
I know I'm no lyricist, but I'm rather pleased with this one anyway -
